Over 1,500 schools have signed up so far on the Tate Year 3 Project website to have their Year 3 classes photographed for Steve McQueen’s artwork to launch in the prestigious Duveen Galleries at Tate Britain this November. Only Year 3 classes which feature in the artwork and who’ve had a photography session in school this academic year, will be able to book a school visit to see this historic work. In addition, Year 3 participating teachers will be invited to an exclusive exhibition Private View with Steve McQueen at Tate when the exhibition opens in November.
The deadline for signing up to the website is Friday 5th April (the end of the Spring Term). If your Year 3 children have already enjoyed a photography session, please do let your colleagues in affiliate and cluster schools know about it and encourage them to sign up to this landmark project. It’s just 3 weeks until the deadline for participation completes! Details about what is covered in a photography session can be found on our website.
Many schools which have taken part have also tweeted about their enjoyment of the sessions – #year3project.
